Why Hire a Nutrition Coach When Information Is Free?

Maybe Information Was Never the Problem

Let's be honest.

We know vegetables are good for us.

We know we should drink more water.

We know walking is good for our bodies and our minds.

We know protein matters.

We know sleep matters.

We know fast food every night probably isn't the best idea.

The information isn't hard to find.

In fact, I think that's part of the problem.

There are meal plans.

Recipes.

Apps.

Podcasts.

Social media accounts.

Books.

Videos.

One person tells you to eat carbs.

Another tells you to avoid them.

One says eat breakfast.

Another says skip it.

One says meal prep on Sunday.

Another says eat intuitively.

It's exhausting.

And yet...

Despite all the information available, so many of us still struggle.

I've started to think information was never really the problem.

I think real life is.

Real Life Doesn't Care About Meal Plans

Healthy eating looks easy on the internet.

Then Tuesday happens.

You work late.

Someone has an appointment.

The fridge is half empty.

You're tired.

Everyone is hungry.

Someone doesn't like what you're making.

You realize you skipped lunch.

You grab a handful of crackers while making supper because you forgot to eat.

By the time you drive home, the drive-thru starts looking like a pretty reasonable solution.

Google can tell you how to make quinoa salad.

It can't help you decide what to make for supper when everyone is tired and life feels chaotic.

Real life is messy.

Healthy eating has to fit into that mess.

Decision Fatigue Is Real

I think we underestimate how many decisions we make every day.

What to eat.

What to pack.

What to buy.

What's for supper.

What the kids will eat.

What your partner will eat.

What fits the budget.

What works with your schedule.

What to make with what's already in the fridge.

By the end of the day, we're exhausted.

Not because we don't know what healthy eating looks like.

Because we're tired of making decisions.

Sometimes a coach doesn't just provide information.

Sometimes a coach helps quiet the noise.

Accountability Isn't About Willpower

Can I tell you something I've learned?

Most people don't struggle because they're lazy.

They struggle because they're busy.

They're taking care of everyone else.

Kids.

Grandkids.

Partners.

Parents.

Coworkers.

Friends.

Pets.

Work.

Life.

Somewhere along the way, they quietly stop showing up for themselves.

Not because they don't care.

Because they're caring for everyone else.

Then something interesting happens.

They book a coaching appointment.

Suddenly there's time set aside for them.

Someone asks how they're doing.

Someone remembers they had a stressful week.

Someone celebrates that they drank more water.

Someone reminds them that vacation didn't ruin anything.

Someone helps them get back on track after a difficult month.

That's accountability.

Not guilt.

Not pressure.

Support.

Why I Coach The Way I Do

I didn't build GEN because I think people need another meal plan.

I've done the reading.

I've looked up the recipes.

I've tried to figure it all out myself.

I've learned that knowing what to do and doing it consistently are two very different things.

I've learned that life changes.

Bodies change.

Schedules change.

Stress changes us.

I've learned that healthy eating isn't about perfection.

It's about finding something that works for your real life.

I won't ask you to give up the foods you love.

I'll help you reimagine them.

I won't tell you one vacation ruined everything.

I won't expect perfection.

I'll listen.

We'll problem solve together.

We'll figure out restaurants, holidays, birthdays, BBQs, travel, busy weeks, and everything else life throws our way.

Because sometimes the conversation isn't really about food at all.

Sometimes it's about life.

Maybe You Don't Need More Information

Maybe you don't need another app.

Another meal plan.

Another list of rules.

Another Monday restart.

Maybe you need someone in your corner.

Someone to help you cut through the noise.

Someone to simplify things.

Someone to remind you that one meal doesn't define your journey.

Someone to celebrate the small victories.

Someone to help you make yourself a priority again.

Someone to walk alongside you while you figure out what works for your life.

One Last Thought

People don't usually come to me because they don't know vegetables are healthy.

They come because they're tired.

Tired of starting over.

Tired of feeling guilty.

Tired of trying to do it all alone.

Tired of wondering why healthy eating feels so hard.

Maybe the internet has already given you all the information you need.

Maybe what you're really looking for is support.

A plan that fits your life.

A little accountability.

A little encouragement.

A little less noise.

Someone in your corner.

That's what I try to be.

Because I don't think healthy eating should feel like another thing on your to-do list.

I think it should help you enjoy your life.

And I don't believe you have to figure it all out by yourself.🌿
